Examinations: Visual Fields

Visual Field testing is an examination method aimed at testing your peripheral vision. It will take less than a minute per eye, except if we do the test for glaucoma, in which case it might take about six minutes per eye.

How does it work?

You place your head against a head rest and look into an instrument at a white screen. Your fixation target is a black point. While you watch this black point, a group of lines will briefly flicker from various peripheral locations – click on a button every time you see those lines!

Dr. Bender compares your results versus age-matched normal results. There can be several causes to loss of your visual field. Dr. Bender will discuss the findings with you.
